The District Sleeps Alone Tonight

I am never the last person awake! I normally fall asleep about 3 hours before Stuart, but he's ill and curled up on the sofa. I'm going to have to wake him to move him in a minute and I think he's going to hate me a little bit!

Shaved

I took Lola to the vets to be spayed this morning. It was quite upsetting, I felt awful to be honest. When they rung me at work to say she was fine I nearly burst into tears! I am such a wuss.

I took the afternoon off work to spend some time with her, and she was absolutely fine as soon as we walked in You wouldn't know that anything had happened, except for the shaved patch on her side.

They've shaved off her dartboard pattern and I really want it to come back :(

Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground

Our neighbor gave us these flowers before she went away for the week, and I kept meaning to take a picture of them for Project 365. I woke up this morning to find they were dead.

But, I still wanted the picture to remind me that people just don't think of doing nice things a lot of the time, and it can really brighten someones day.

Rail Way

I still have some clothes in boxes, some in a wardrobe the previous people left, and the rest on a wobbly clothes rail. This month we might be buying wardrobes. How exciting!

As you might be able to tell, I didn't realise I'd not taken a picture till I was almost asleep, so I took a picture of something close to the bed.

Polkamon

I am so so tired this evening. Got home from work, and got straight on the sofa with the duvet to watch The City. Had a quick bath then straight back to the sofa for Girls of the Playboy Mansion.

I pick Stu up every evening, but I didn't want to ruin my relaxation session, so I just picked him up in my PJs. I didn't wear my slippers though, that'd just be silly.

The Nottingham Eye

Tonight we went to see my favourite comedian of all time - Ross Noble. I cannot stress how amazing this man is!

I've seen him twice before, both at sold out arenas. But for Christmas Stuart got me tickets to see him at a tiny 200 capacity venue. We got there an hour early, and were the first there. I sat literally right at the front, on a stool, and I could rest my feet on the stage if I wanted to. I was no more than 1m from him for the entire gig. I got to interact with him, I got to be part of the show, it was just amazing!

He also spoke for over 3 hours and most (about 5/6!) of his show was based on what people were saying and shouting out. He is just such a genius!

I didn't get any pictures of him because I was literally sat within arms length of him and I didn't want to whip this massive SLR out. So, this is the Nottingham Eye. Which was empty. I think Ross called it a birds eye view of stabbings? Still, it makes for a pretty picture!

Fifty Years Young

This evening I went to a party for my beautiful co-worker, Karen, who is 50 this week. We went on a boat up and down the River Trent, and had a meal and some drinks. Obviously this is a picture of her as a little girl - she looks young now, but not quite this young!

We got so incredibly lost on the way there, and nearly completely missed the boat! Someone rung ahead, and they were just leaving as we got there. We also got lost on the way back but that didn't seem anywhere near as bad. Thanks for that Sat Nav!

One from Many

This was the last cupcake. I felt sorry for it, so I ate it! This was purely an act of kindness I assure you, I didn't enjoy it at all.

I passed my first aid course! I had both a written test and practical test, and I was terrified, but did well. I am now a first aider for West Notts College :). I can also use a defibrillator. Awesome!

Books From Boxes

My mum packed the rest of my stuff in boxes, and I am now officialy moved out of my parents. It only took a year! I went through everything and got rid of 3 bin bags.

I didn't notice the cat in the middle of the picture till I put it on the computer. By this time everything was packed away and my OCD felt much better, so I left her there!

Smash and Grab

I smashed my phone at the gym. Luckily, I have phone insurance which I nearly cancelled this month. Unluckily, it's £15 excess which is just extra money I don't have! Could have been worse I guess.

More first aid today, we covered everything else in our little book. I am nervous about tomorrow.

Heart Cake Hotel

More first aid today, with burns, shock, and more wound dressing. Still interesting, and I can now finally do mouth to mouth! I struggled a bit yesterday with making a decent seal.

Went to the gym from work, then came back and cooked cupcakes for someones 50th birthday. Contemplated making 50 then I realised I did want to go to bed before midnight! I made the two heart cakes for Mr. Gilbert <3

Sling Shot

So today was my first day of first aid training! We covered CPR, various wounds/dressings, how to react to a first aid situation, choking, and all sorts of things.

Really interesting and I'm really enjoying it, although there's a lot to pick up. Doing the course until Thursday, when there's a written and practical test. Argh!!

When I got home I cooked dinner for David, Katy, Helen and Stu. I cooked a gorgeous Sunday dinner on a Monday, then bandaged everyone up for practice. Stuart had cut the palm of his hand, how silly of him!

Went to my parents for Sunday dinner, and Philip and Stu played chess. I can't play/don't understand. Does this make me stupid? No ones ever shown me and when I think about it I just get a little bored and confused!

Valentine

He bought me a unicorn because I asked for one :)

Went out for a gorgeous meal. I don't know what came over me (urgh stupid diet!) but I ate all of my food, plus half of Stu's, plus desert. Gorgeous steak in peppercorn sauce, with corn on the cob and onions and numnumnum.

Friday 13th

Urgh it's a disaster! Both me and Stu ruined Project 365 today and completely forgot to take pictures.

It wasn't even like we didn't do anything! We had tons of opportunities to take pictures, but Friday 13th struck again. Bad times.

Still, I think we're both going to carry on and pretend it didn't happen. I'm really enjoying doing this so it would be a shame to quit over one STUPID day!

Sweet Sixteen

It was my (not so) little brother's birthday today! I cannot believe he is sixteen - it seems so strange to me. My other brother will be 18 this year too, and going off to University.

We went to Boston Burger Co. with my parents and Phil's friend Mikey. It was a nice evening :).

Do Something Amazing Today

I did it! This was my second time trying to give blood. The first time, about 8 months ago, I went all sick/hot/gross feeling, and had to stop about half way through.

This time I started to feel sick, got someone to come over, and I was done! I still lay down for 5 minutes, but I did it! I feel so good about it, although I feel kinda ill still. Sorry about the rubbish camera phone picture but I thought the content was good enough to warrant a 365 appearance!

Hopefully next time will be even better :)

Le Petit Arbre

Working till 8 again tonight. I've just been round and watered the plants in the IT Centre as they got close to dying again recently. I'm determined to make them flourish!

We have about 8 peace lilies in the room, though I've never seen them flower. And this plant/tree sits pretty much next to me. I have no idea what it is!

So this is where I sit at home and play poker! On my lovely IKEA desk we have -

• Hello Kitty / cupcake stickers. From Cornwall. Never used them but couldn't resist! They are waiting for a special place to be stuck!
• My new work notebook.
• Heart shaped sunglasses. They were 98p from Primark and I just couldn't resist!
• External HDD. I had a virus scare a few days ago so decided to back all my photos and music up.
• Cupcake with notepad inside. The notepad has never been used.

• Purse
• Geek cup - actually Stu's but I've stolen it.

One Week Early

These are the first cards Stu has ever given me, and I kind of ruined it!

I came home from the gym and found a card addressed to me on the floor. I later found out that I was meant to call for Stuart and ask him if he knew about it, then he'd deny all knowledge and I'd just put it away for a week - (AS IF! Surely I would have wanted to open it more then!). Unfortunately I just opened it and ruined the entire plan.

I was supposed to open the Asda one first and laugh at the hilarity of the whole thing, but be a little bit upset. Then Stuart would save the day with the Super Sweet Card™ (inc. badge) and I would fall in love with him just that little bit more.

As it actually happened Stuart found me downstairs crying because he'd written something nice and I'm such a wuss. I got to open both cards, and he explained the plan to me and told me what a loser I was.

Poker, Pancakes and Prizes!

Lots of photo opportunities today. Went shopping in the morning and got a few bits and pieces, a gorgeous dress that I'm taking back (I'm such a girl!) and some presents.

Then in the evening Chloe, Joe, Peter and David came round for the first PPP meeting! We had an evening playing poker for super special prizes. I lost, first and badly. I got a bit carried away and went all in thinking I was awesome. Turns out, I'm not.

So instead I looked after everyone else! I gave them treats from Lizz's special tin, and whipped up a ton of awesome pancakes. The one in the photo apparently made Chloe's teeth hurt. It has syrup, sugar and sprinkles on - all in all a very nutrious tea. I love playing entertainer!

Tick Tock

I had an evening in with a friend, then remembered about 10.30 that I hadn't taken a picture yet. We were planning a late night Asda shop anyway, that would have provided plenty of picture opportunities. I chucked the camera in my bag before we left, but discovered when we got there that I'd left the SD card in my computer... Oops!

We got home at 11.45 and I had a bit of a mental blank! This was how close I got to ruining the entire project.

Snow Day!

I think this is the first time that I have ever seen real snow, or that I remember anyway. Woke up early this morning, and tried to put off walking to work for as long as possible which paid off - SNOW DAY! WNC was one of the last schools in Mansfield to close, so a lot of people ended up getting there anyway.

I spent the day doing bits round the house - tidying, doing laundry, vacuuming etc. Played some online poker, watched some rubbish telly. Went out with Katy, Helen and David to Fisher park and went sledging. I nearly fell over about 100 times, and actually fell over about 5, due to my stupid slippy boots. Couldn't stay out all day because Stu was working from home, but I had a nice afternoon nap when we got home while Stu was busy typing away!

I can cross off one of my 43things now which was to play in snow. It was pretty cool, but I think it'd get annoying pretty quickly when you had to get to work every day in it.

Oh yeah, the picture. It's me wrapped up ready to go exploring! I didn't end up wearing the cat ears out though, I think Stu might have disowned me.

Cornerhouse

We went to the cinema with Chloe and Joe and saw Underworld, which I thought was quite good. I've not seen the other two, so I didn't really know what to compare it with but I always love a good vampire movie. It didn't hurt that the lead guy kinda reminded me of Aragorn too!

It was pretty strange driving to Nottingham. There was tons of snow on the ground still in Mansfield, yet when I started to pull into the city centre, there was barely a sign that it had ever snowed there.

Our House

It's still snowy! Unfortunately West Notts was one of very few schools and colleges still open :(. It took me well over an hour to do a normally 15 minute journey this morning, meaning I was very late for work, but so was everyone else!

I was hoping that they'd close early again, but no such look, so I was there 8.30 - 8.00 again. I took this picture when I pulled up at home after a rubbish day, and a horrible drive home, and saw our lovely little house looking nice and welcoming!

Beauty Queen of Only 18

I completely forgot to take a proper picture this evening. This is the treatment room that was set up at my aunt's where lovely Hayley preened and pampered us all evening. I meant to take a photo of the jacuzzi (or Tuesday as Evie calls it) where we sat in the snow. Lovely!
